We’re excited to announce the release of two powerful new templates, Clash and BCF, now available for all Vcad users!
These additions are designed to enhance project coordination and issue management directly within Power BI, empowering teams to collaborate more effectively around BIM data. Both templates can be found under the new “Collab” tab in the template download window, a dedicated space for templates focused on collaboration and interdisciplinary workflows.

Clash Template: Next-Gen Clash Detection in Power BI
The Clash template brings clash detection reporting directly into your Vcad and Power BI environment, allowing for a highly visual, data-rich analysis of interferences within your BIM model.
This template is designed to work with clash detection results exported from Navisworks. With it, you can:
- Visualize clashes directly in your 3D model
- Filter and isolate clashes by status, severity, and more
- Review detailed information about each clash, including attributes and geometries
- Track clash resolution progress over time
By integrating clash data into Power BI, the Clash template supports a data-driven coordination process and improves the traceability of issues across disciplines.

BCF Template: Bringing the BIM Collaboration Format to Power BI
The BCF template brings support for the BIM Collaboration Format (BCF) using Vcad. BCF is a widely-used standard that allows issue tracking across BIM platforms, and now you can analyze and visualize BCF issues directly inside Power BI.
With the BCF template, you can:
- View and filter issues by type, status, author, date, and more
- Review issue-specific viewpoints with the generated snapshots
- Gain insight into project coordination through issue clustering and timelines
- Contextualize topics using the 3D model
- Monitor project health and accountability with customizable dashboards
This template is ideal for design reviews, coordination meetings, and issue tracking workflows that use platforms supporting BCF files (e.g., BIMcollab, Trimble Connect, Solibri, Newforma Konekt, etc.).
