Starting October 5, 2025, the old file manager of Vcad Standalone will be retired and fully replaced by a new interface that is more modern, intuitive, and aligned with the experience already available in the Autodesk Construction Cloud integration. This is not just a graphic refresh but a real step forward in how content is organized and BIM data is managed.

The most striking difference is the visual setup. The old file manager displayed a simple linear list of files with minimal information and basic commands. The new interface introduces a cleaner and more functional layout, with quick controls and a built-in model preview. This gives users immediate insight not only into the data but also into the graphical content, reducing search and verification time.

Another key improvement is consistency with the ACC environment. By adopting the same logic between Standalone and ACC, the learning curve is reduced, and workflows become more seamless for those who use both solutions. There is no longer a need to adapt to two different systems: the experience is now unified, with tools and procedures speaking the same language. This represents an important step in the evolution of Vcad, moving toward a single platform with integrated capabilities.

All core functions remain unchanged, such as uploading BIM files in the supported formats, automatic conversion, and downloading data. What has changed is the overall experience, which is now faster, customizable, and more user-friendly, with features like theme settings and dark mode.

The new Vcad Standalone file manager is therefore both an essential transition and a valuable upgrade for all users. Those already familiar with the platform will find a more advanced and consistent environment, while new users will start working with a system designed to simplify every step. Ultimately, this update strengthens Vcad’s role as a reference tool for bringing BIM data into the world of analysis and business intelligence, with file management that meets the demands of the industry.
